View all search resultsSingaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong embarked on his two-day state visit to Indonesia on Tuesday in a move described by international experts as “strategic” given the archipelago’s importance to the island country and Indonesia’s projected bigger role on the global stage under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto.
Prabowo visited Vietnam over the weekend, ostensively as an extension to his three-day ASEAN tour in early September, and met with Vietnamese leaders to discuss bilateral cooperation as well as to convey his condolences to people affected by Typhoon Yagi.
First revealed during Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto's visit to Canberra earlier this month, the Indonesia-Australia Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA) is finally signed after over 30 bilateral meetings since March of last year.
Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto on Thursday received a courtesy visit by his Turkish counterpart Yasar Gühler, during which the two military chiefs talked about cooperation in the defense sector and beyond, amid reported plans to purchase Turkish weapons systems.
On June 11, the second day of his working visit, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto attended a special meeting with Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia and Chairman of the United Russia party, who also served as Russia’s president (2008-2012) and prime minister (2012-2020).
