View all search resultsA permit for a floating cottage and pier run by real estate developer PT Central Pondok Sejahtera (PT CAS) recently drew scrutiny after the ministry ordered a halt to unauthorized dredging and illegal reclamation in Gudus Lempeng, Biawak Islet.
The Agrarian and Spatial Planning Ministry/the National Land Agency (BPN) has confirmed that two private companies own land on the shoreline facing the “mysterious” sea fence in the coastal waters of Tangerang regency, Banten, and has promised to investigate any potential links between the companies and the illegal barrier.
Data from the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry recorded that Demak regency had lost around 550 hectares of coastal land in the past 15 years. Meanwhile, it only regained 179 ha through natural sedimentation.
