The government will limit the increase of capital expenditure (capex) at state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to about 7 percent this year as part of an SOEs restructuring program, an advisor to the SOEs minister has said.
The Transportation Minister has made assurances over the planned cut to domestic airfares, but has added a previously unreported condition that the reduced fares would be available only at limited times.
The airline has reportedly closed the Belitung-Singapore route and will also close the Jakarta-London route after the summer holiday. The company will also reduce the flight frequency of the Jakarta-Amsterdam route from six flights to only three.
Sriwijaya Air president director Joseph Saul said on Tuesday the airline “like it or not” had to abide by the government's decision, but he said the company needed to close a number of routes to prevent losses.
