The Home Ministry is planning to organize a retreat for regional secretaries nationwide, potentially combining it with the upcoming third regional leaders’ retreat in a bid to enhance coordination and accelerate the implementation of national development programs at the local level.
The second leadership retreat for newly elected regional heads will be held at the Institute of Public Administration (IPDN) campus ground in Jatinangor, Sumedang regency, West Java, for five days starting June 22.
The week-long retreat for newly inaugurated regional leaders is expected to wrap up on Feb. 28 with President Prabowo Subianto expected to deliver a speech as part of an effort to build synergy between central government and regional administrations.
Accompanied by fellow PDI-P member and Yogyakarta mayor Hasto Wardoyo, Pramono told journalists that he was “grateful for the government’s patience” and that “we were only able to join the retreat today”.
