The National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department announced on Monday it had foiled an attempt to smuggle 84 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in an operation conducted by the Finance Ministry’s Directorate General of Customs and Excise.
Actor Gatot Brajamusti, 54, a former Indonesian Actors Guild (Parfi) chairman, was declared guilty of drug possession and sentenced to eight years in prison and fined Rp 1 billion (US$75,075) by the Mataram District Court in West Nusa Tenggara on Thursday.
