View all search resultsIndonesia Wakaf Summit (IWS) 2019, organized by Dompet Dhuafa on March 5, has brought together important waqf stakeholders in the country such as National Committee for Shariah Finance (KNKS), the directorate of zakat and waqf empowerment, the Religious Affairs Ministry, and Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI) to deliberate on finding an effective ways to transform and develop waqf in the so called digital era.
Indonesia, as the country with the largest Muslim population and the most generous country worldwide (World Giving Index, 2018), is very much expected to play a significant role in harnessing the potential of Islamic endowments to promote prosperity and justice.
Indonesia with support from the Islamic Development Bank, has reaffirmed its position as one of the world’s Islamic economic and financial catalysts with the launch of the Waqf Core Principle during the recent International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Annual Meetings.
