Although Halloween is not an annual holiday in Indonesia, many Jakartans are becoming more familiar with the celebration.

Nowadays, the European tradition is seen as an opportunity for the residents of Jakarta to wear their wicked costumes.

Those wanting to celebrate Halloween in Jakarta may consult the list below.

Three Buns

Three Buns restaurant in South Jakarta will hold Halloween celebration on Oct. 27-29.

On Friday and Saturday, the eatery will be hosting a Tribute to Tim Burton movie night, featuring the director's popular films, including Beetlejuice, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Corpse Bride and Edward Scissorhands. The movie screening is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. and guests are entitled to free popcorn.

On Sunday, children aged 4 to 8 can take part in a pumpkin-painting workshop. Priced at Rp 200,000 (US$14.73) per child, the fee includes arts materials, an apron, a milkshake and a pumpkin.

Loewy bistro in South Jakarta will be hosting a Halloween party on Oct. 27.

This time around, a DJ set by Anton Wirjono will help guests to dance the night away in a “haunted mansion.” Moreover, the establishment is also offering a prize for the best costume.

Paulaner Bräuhaus

Those wanting to celebrate Halloween on Oct. 31 may want to join Paulaner's haunted Halloween party in Paulaner Bräuhaus.
