he 15th installment of the Jakarta Fashion & Food Festival (JFFF) is set to return for almost a month from April 5 to May 6 at Summarecon Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.
After previously promoting noodle dishes, this year's event will highlight soto (aromatic soup) by presenting 10 different types of soto from across the archipelago at Kampoeng Tempo Doeloe (KTD), the center of the food festival. The theme also aims to support the Creative Economy Agency (BEK) progam called "Soto, A Spoonful of Indonesian Warmth".
“We’re currently in the phase of curating and finding which soto establishments will be featured at KTD,” said JFFF chairman Soegianto Nagaria during a press conference at the National Museum in Central Jakarta on Tuesday.
Around 72 eateries will be among those curated by the committee.

Soegianto said JFFF seeks to serve as a platform for the local businesses. “Here, they will know which dishes sell the most and how people perceive [their food]. Hopefully they can then expand to other cities."
Set to open from April 5 to May 6, KTD will feature more than 100 food stalls offering different dishes, including rujak juhi (combination of vegetables and salted cuttlefish) and kerak telor (Betawi omelette).
For fashion enthusiasts, JFFF will also present over 60 designers who will showcase their work at the fashion festival from April 11 to 29, including Marga Alam, Eddy Betty, Jenahara, Patrick Owen and Hengky Kawilarang.
Other events prepared at the festival are the Wine & Cheese Expo from April 5 to 29 and the JF3 Run on April 22. (kes)
