Garuda rated Asia Pacific's most punctual airline

National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has been ranked number one for On-Time Performance (OTP) among global airlines in the Asia Pacific region from October to December 2018, according to United Kingdom-based air travel intelligence company OAG.

OAG reported that Garuda recorded an OTP arrival rate of 89.9 percent in December, with over 15,000 flights. From September to November, Garuda was also in the top five among global airlines with more than 10,000 flights.

Garuda Indonesia operation director Bambang Adisurya Angkasa said the company would maintain its strong coordination to optimize its operational services so as to retain its OTP ranking.

“On this occasion, we would like to extend our appreciation to the loyal customers of Garuda Indonesia. They have contributed to our achievement by checking-in on-time, ensuring smooth and punctual flight schedules,” Bambang was quoted as saying.

As an IOSA Registered Airline, Garuda also has a strong commitment to operational safety. (mut)
