omegrown service provider app Go-Jek has collaborated with the Jakarta administration to integrate “Enjoy Jakarta” with Go-Tix, the app’s ticketing platform.

Michael Say, Go-Jek’s vice president of corporate affairs, explained in a press release that the company supported the Jakarta administration in the development of Jakarta 4.0, specifically in the development of “Smart Tourism”.

“Through Go-Tix, Go-Jek is providing a column exclusively for Enjoy Jakarta. Users can use Go-Tix features to buy tickets online, promoting events through counters and even the provision of pickup and delivery points,” said Michael.

The feature was first integrated into the app on June 22 – on Jakarta’s 492nd anniversary – and is now available on its own page on Go-Tix.

Michael went on to say that the company hoped the feature could make tourist destinations in the capital more accessible to people from all walks of life.

“In Indonesia, Jakarta is the first province to have an exclusive page to publicize events and tourist destinations on Go-Jek,” he was quoted as saying.

Go-Jek also aims to support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) through the availability of Go-Pay as a payment method for a variety of food, drinks and creative products at the Semasa Picnic and Pasar Raia (Raia Market) events taking place on June 22-23.

Aside from increasing accessibility, Go-Jek also offered a 30 percent cash back incentive, which Michael explains would, “spur interest in purchasing goods from participating MSMEs and indirectly increasing their income”.

In the future, Go-Jek aims to further support MSMEs and the Jakarta administration through the Go-Nusantara program, which will provide training to MSME owners in Jakarta and support the local government’s aim of forming 200,000 new MSMEs. (ayr/mut)
