Held on July 15-16, the 2020 Geotourism Festival will webinars and cultural tours to promote West Nusa Tenggara's tourist potential.
he two-day virtual 2020 Geotourism Festival will kick off online on July 15 to promote West Nusa Tenggara’s (NTB) geotourism and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME).
The event will also feature webinars, cultural performances, virtual tours around Mount Rinjani and Mount Tambora, and online exhibitions, showcasing a wide array of tour packages and local products.
According to the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry’s Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition (MICE) director, Rizky Handayani, digital technology allows avid travelers and tour agencies to have limitless interactions.
“By joining this virtual event, tourism players and communities in Indonesia can learn to use technology to sell their products and services during the pandemic,” Rizky said in a statement.

Interested participants or exhibitors can register at the festival’s website.
Tickets start at Rp 55,000 (US$3.83) for virtual tours only. For exhibitors, prices start at Rp 30,000 for a shared booth.
Organized by the Rinjani Lombok Geopark Community, the event will involve the Indonesia Geopark Network (JGI), Asia-Pacific Geoparks Network and UNESCO Global Geoparks. (wir/wng)
