Prabowo introduces Gibran to UAE leader
Shortly after arriving at the Al Shati presidential palace in Dubai, Prabowo began his conversation with MBZ by introducing Gibran to the Gulf country's leader.

ayor of Surakarta in Central Java, and vice president-elect, Gibran Rakabuming Raka on Monday joined president-elect Prabowo Subianto on a trip to the United Arab Emirates during which the two held talks with the country's leader Muhammad bin Zayed, popularly known as MBZ.
Shortly after arriving at the Al Shati presidential palace in Dubai, Prabowo began his conversation with MBZ by introducing Gibran to the Gulf country’s leader.
"Your honor, I'd like to introduce my vice president," Prabowo told MBZ, according to a read-out published by the Defense Ministry on Tuesday. Prabowo visited the UAE in his capacity as Indonesia's defense minister.
Later in the meeting, Prabowo discussed a number of issues with MBZ including efforts to deepen defense cooperation between the two countries.
"There is still room to grow for ties between Indonesia and the UAE and this should be based on ambitions by the two countries in strengthening ties, including in defense," Prabowo said.
MBZ has maintained a good relationship with Gibran's father outgoing President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo especially in the past five years.
In 2022, Jokowi and MBZ inaugurated the Sheikh Zayed Solo Grand Mosque in the former’s hometown of Surakarta, where Gibran serves as mayor.
In 2021, the Public Works and Housing Ministry renamed the Cikampek elevated toll road, the country's longest, to the MBZ toll road, in honor of the UAE leader.
