ndonesia will dispatch a rescue team, medical workers and logistical aid to Myanmar following a powerful earthquake that rocked the country and neighboring Thailand on Friday, Foreign Minister Sugiono said on Sunday.
Indonesia has sent two representatives to join the ASEAN-Emergency Response and Assessment Team (ASEAN-ERAT), who arrived on Sunday with other ASEAN members.
The Indonesia search and rescue (INASAR) team is scheduled to depart for Myanmar on Tuesday.
The country will also send an urban search and rescue (USAR) team, an emergency medical team (EMT) and logistics equipment worth US$1 million.
President Prabowo Subianto will officially dispatch the EMT team and logistics assistance from Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport in Jakarta on Thursday.
“Indonesia stands ready to provide all necessary support for recovery efforts in the affected areas,” the President said on his account on social media platform X last Friday.
