onald Trump arguably would be much happier if he were the president of Indonesia. In this country, it seems the businessman-turnedpolitician could speak the same language with members of the House of Representatives. Or Trump could share jokes with the lawmakers that only they could understand.
On many levels, there are similarities between the president of the United States and several House members in Senayan.
At least they share a penchant for denial.
One of Trump’s notable feats was his denial of climate change. While the whole world was gravely concerned with global warming as a result of massive industrialization and carbon emissions, Trump simply called the phenomenon a hoax.
At first, I had thought his statement was a slip of the tongue, but my naiveté was dashed when the US announced its withdrawal from the Paris Agreement.
Another instance of “Trump denial” was his “locker room” conversation, which insulted women. Despite the conversation going viral, Trump maintained his innocence, saying he had a lot of respect for women.
Trump consistently convinced the American public that all he had done and would do is to “make America great again.”
