The President reaffirmed energy transition commitments provided Indonesia received international financial support.
resident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo met with World Bank officials in Jakarta on Wednesday, during which he reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to fighting climate change with international financial support.
In the meeting held at the Merdeka Palace, World Bank vice president for East Asia and Pacific Manuela Ferro, managing director of operations Axel van Trotsenburg and country director Satu Kahkonen discussed with the President several things, including Indonesia G20’s presidency, energy transition and the new capital city.
Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung accompanied the President during the event.

Sri Mulyani said the international community’s support for Indonesia’s G20 leadership had an important role in the efforts to recover the global economy after the pandemic.
“The President emphasized that Indonesia [was committed to] achieving its energy transition and net-zero emissions goals, but in doing so, financing becomes very important,” said Sri Mulyani in a statement.
