deaFest 2022 is coming back to its offline format to dissect the creative industry of the country and the world, with issues ranging from non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and art to sustainable lifestyles, good food and music, and, most importantly perhaps, new ways to capitalize on intellectual property.

“Normally, we have several [thematic] pillars we hold ourselves, but this time we have handed a lot over to community partners like the comedy festival for example, [partnering with] Majelis Lucu Indonesia,” said Samara Group chief marketing officer Desy Bachir on Monday.

After being held completely virtually for the past two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual event will finally be offline again this year, held from Nov. 24 to 27 at the Jakarta Convention Center in the Senayan area of the capital.

More than 100 talks and conferences are on the agenda with a wide range of topics.

IdeaFest will feature a discussion on Government Regulation No. 24/2022 about intellectual property (IP) based financing, or the use of IP as collateral for loans.

“There will be several speakers talking about [IP-based financing],” said digital economy and creative products undersecretary M. Neil El Himam in a press conference on Monday.
