ata from Google show that Indonesians are growing an interest in new modes of transportation, with keywords like "sepeda listrik" (electric bike), "motor listrik" (electric motorcycle) and "mobil hybrid" (hybrid cars) surging 100 percent or more in Google searches last year.
Google Indonesia released Year In Search 2022 on Thursday and on top of transportation, the study also covers trends in technology, media and entertainment, beauty and self-care, food and beverages, travel as well as finance.
The report claims that brands whose marketing strategy includes broad match keywords paired with smart bidding saw an up-to-25-percent increase in conversions.
“Seventy-three percent of Southeast Asian consumers say they are willing to choose a more sustainable product or service if given the option,” reads the report.
Overall, searches for electric vehicles (EVs) rose by 80 percent in Indonesia, suggesting that more consumers are looking for battery-powered cars that produce no exhaust fumes.

Among the first three aforementioned keywords, electric bikes saw the greatest increase at 110 percent, while the other two experienced exactly a 100 percent rise. In addition, searches for public EV charging stations also leapt by 90 percent.
