Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi confirmed that the extension project of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail to Surabaya would be continued.
ransportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi reaffirmed that the government would continue extending the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway (HSR) to Surabaya despite a recent change to the national strategic projects (PSN) list.
"Yes, the project will be continued," Minister Budi said on Monday, as quoted by Antara.
Budi also mentioned that the extension would be materialized in the next government, which would succeed President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s infrastructure developments started during his two periods of administration.
"The high-speed railway extension project to Surabaya is for the next cabinet," he said.

On July 26, the Committee for the Acceleration of Priority Infrastructure Delivery (KPPIP) received a proposal from the Transportation Ministry to remove the Jakarta-Surabaya rail link project from the PSN.
Being taken out of the PSN does not automatically translate to a cancellation, the agency said, as it would depend on President Jokowi’s decision as to whether the project would be canceled altogether after being dethroned from the strategic list.
