ocal miner PT Merdeka Copper Gold has set a gold production target of 180,000 to 205,000 ounces for this year, nearly doubling its 2025 output of 103,156 ounces.

The 2026 target, pending approval of the annual production plan (RKAB) from the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, is expected to come from the soon-to-operate Pani Gold Mine and the existing Tujuh Bukit Gold Mine.

“Merdeka is strongly positioned to enter the next phase of growth,” Merdeka Copper Gold president director Albert Saputro said in a statement on Tuesday.

For copper, the company’s Wetar mine produced 2,990 tonnes in the fourth quarter of 2025, bringing total annual production to 10,454 tonnes.

The Tujuh Bukit gold mine produced 103,156 ounces of gold in 2025. The operation sold 104,168 ounces at an average price of US$3,138 per ounce, up 32 percent year-on-year, driving a significant improvement in financial margins and cash flow.

Commissioning of the Pani Gold Mine remained on track in the fourth quarter of 2025, as it began key activities such as mining, ore crushing and heap leach pad stacking. The establishment of the adsorption, desorption and recovery (ADR) plant also stayed on schedule, allowing the mine to begin irrigation and initial gold production in the first quarter of this year.
