Delonix is one of the major players in China's hotel industry and is part of a growing number of Chinese hotel operators expanding beyond their home market. Delonix is renowned and excels in three core areas: brand advancement, membership development and service operations. Delonix was established by Alex Zheng, a legendary figure in the Chinese hotel industry. Recognized as one of the country’s top-40 hotel executives, Alex founded and served as CEO of 7 Days Inn in 2005. In 2009, just four years after its founding, 7 Days Inn went public on the New York Stock Exchange.

In 2013, Alex merged 7 Days Inn to establish Plateno Group. Three years later, in 2016, Plateno Group was sold to Jin Jiang Hotels for US$1.8 billion. In 2021, Alex secured investments from Ocean Link, General Atlantic and Sequoia China to privatize New Century Hotel Group, a publicly listed hotel company in Hong Kong. Subsequently, in 2022, he merged New Century Hotels Group and Betterwood Lifestyle Lab to establish Delonix Group.

In 2023, Delonix Group expanded its business into the Asia-Pacific region by acquiring hotel MONday in Japan and entering the Indonesian market through a strategic investment in IHI (Indies Hospitality Investments), Indonesia's largest hotel management and investment platform.

In 2024, Delonix Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Marriott International and launched the brand new Grand New Century - Tribute Portfolio. Additionally, the first Model J Hotel in Jakarta, located near Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is scheduled to open in Q4 2024.

Established in 2024, the Model J Hotel is Delonix Group’s mid-upper scale hotel that targets Indonesian millennial business travellers. Model J Hotel is a dynamic hospitality brand that embraces individualism while respecting cultural traditions. Model J Hotel provides a versatile space that accommodates both activity and tranquillity, bringing guests a relaxing, carefree and joyful experience. Model J’s design incorporates Fireclay Brown, inspired by the rich essence of the earth. This color reflects the depth of soil and the fullness of fruits, embodying the warmth and romance of nature.

Model J provides only what its essential and eliminating unnecessary facilities that are of less concern to guests, making it a greater investment choice for investors or owners who are looking for faster returns. The first Model J Hotel will be strategically located near Jakarta’s international airport.
