osan Perkasa Roeslani, the newly appointed Minister of Investment/Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), was officially installed by President Joko Widodo at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, Aug. 19, 2024.
Among his new responsibilities is the crucial task of realizing the third-quarter investment target of 76 percent by October this year. Under the previous ministership of Bahlil Lahadalia, the Ministry of Investment/BKPM achieved more than 50 percent of the investment target.
Rosan emphasized the importance of teamwork in achieving this ambitious goal.
“I firmly believe in the power of teamwork to achieve this set target. Mr. Bahlil has demonstrated that these goals are attainable and with just two months remaining [to the quarter], let us all strive to give our best,” he said in Jakarta.
Rosan also expressed his gratitude to his predecessor for laying a strong foundation that he believed would assist him in fulfilling the ministry's objectives.
Bahlil responded in kind, expressing his confidence that his successor could indeed realize the investment target.
“Mr. Rosan is both my senior and mentor. I am confident he will exceed my achievements. Please, I only ask one thing: support Mr. Rosan,” Bahlil said.
As Rosan assumed his new role as Minister of Investment/BKPM Chairman, Bahlil expressed his belief that under Rosan’s leadership, the ministry would more effectively drive the achievement of Indonesia's investment realization goal.
During the inauguration and handover ceremony, which was also attended by employees of the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, Rosan called for solid cooperation across all ministerial departments to meet the established targets. He also expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome he received from the ministry's senior officials and staff.
Rosan previously served as Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), a post he had held since July 2023. Born on Dec. 31, 1968, Rosan was the 21st ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the United States, serving this diplomatic post from 2021 to 2023. His extensive experience in finance and investment includes his role as Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) from 2015 to 2021.
