T Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) has once again achieved remarkable success by winning two prestigious awards at the 2024 Merdeka Awards. PNM was honored as the winner in the categories of Innovative Programs for the Nation and Technology-Based Collaborative Programs, recognizing its significant contributions to economic development and community empowerment through innovation and technological collaboration.
In the Innovative Programs for the Nation category, PNM demonstrated its commitment to creating programs that focus on economic empowerment for communities, particularly ultra-micro entrepreneurs, through the PNM Mekaar (Empowering Prosperous Families) program, and micro-entrepreneurs through the Micro Capital Services Unit (ULaMM) program. The Kampung Madani initiative was also highlighted as a vital complement to PNM’s comprehensive service ecosystem.
Sasono Hantarto, EVP of human capital at PNM, emphasized the company’s dedication to providing financial inclusion solutions for underprivileged groups who lacked access to traditional banking, enabling them to start, revive or expand their businesses.
“Our ULaMM and Mekaar clients receive not only financial assistance but also intellectual and social support. PNM acts as a bridge for access to financing, particularly for women seeking to grow their businesses,” Sasono said.
PNM also plays a pivotal role in assisting millions of underprivileged women across Indonesia by facilitating access to capital, training and business mentoring, ultimately enhancing their family’s welfare.
“This program has become a role model for inclusive entrepreneurship development in Indonesia,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Technology-Based Collaborative Program award was presented to PNM for its innovative and collaborative use of digital technology. Through its digital platform, PNM has optimized access to inclusive financial services for clients in various regions, even in hard-to-reach areas.
The PNM Digi app provides clients with easy access to financing, featuring tools to support business operations, such as financial record-keeping, affordable shopping options at Warung Mekaar, payment gateways and more. Additionally, the Mekaar Digital (MekDi) app assists clients with digital financing applications, disbursement processes and other services. This innovation led to PNM receiving accolades in the technology collaboration category.
“This award is a testament to the hard work of the entire PNM family. This achievement motivates us to continue evolving and innovating, delivering the best services to our clients and the Indonesian community,” Sasono remarked. He added that this recognition underscored PNM’s role not only as a financial institution but also as a social change agent committed to having a positive impact on the nation. PNM will continue to develop innovative programs that promote community-based economic growth, with technology as a core pillar.
