Music and mind fuse together beautifully at Soulshine Bali

estled in the lush, tranquil heart of Ubud, Soulshine Bali stands out as the world’s first sound and wellness resort, a place where the transformative power of music, mindfulness and immersive experiences come alive. Soulshine Bali provides a vibrant oasis where music meets mindfulness to create a space that fuses soulful energy and serenity, taking relaxation and rejuvenation to another level.

“Soulshine Bali isn’t just a destination; it’s an invitation to slow down, connect deeply and be inspired," said Soulshine’s General Manager, Agus Suananda. "As the world’s first sound and wellness resort, we are dedicated to creating spaces where guests can find peace, joy and the freedom to truly be themselves.”

Founded by poet, activist, and American musician Michael Franti, alongside Canadian-born entrepreneur, nurse and philanthropist Sara Agah Franti, Soulshine Bali is expanding with seven new rooms, known as The Sanctuary, set to launch in February 2025.

The new addition is an expansion of the 33 available rooms, ranging from serene garden hideaways to expansive panorama penthouse suites, each space is a reflection of Balinese beauty and tranquillity. Every detail is thoughtfully curated, blending modern elegance with traditional touches, providing an atmosphere that feels elevated yet grounded.

This year, Soulshine Bali is excited to deepen its creative ties by partnering with the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, Southeast Asia’s largest literary and arts event. As a dedicated venue partner, Soulshine will be the setting for a variety of special events and workshops during the festival, offering a space for participants to reflect, connect, and ignite their creativity. Featured Masterclasses include 'Writing to Understand Food' with Fuchsia Dunlop on Friday, October 25, and 'Storytelling On The Road: Travel Writing' with Fatris MF on Sunday, October 27.

Guests will also be invited to nourish not just their soul but their appetite at one of the many establishments at Soulshine Bali. Embracing its philosophy of being "100 percent healthy, 90 percent of the time" the curated food and beverage offerings include the Soul Bar, Stay Human, and Togetherness—each space designed to nourish the body while uplifting the spirit.

This November, the space will be much more vibrant with the addition of the stunning Sunset Deck, where guests can bask in panoramic sunset views over Ubud’s lush landscapes, all while savoring refreshing drinks and live music. It is also worth noting that the Sunset House DJ will keep the guests entertained every evening.

The resort invites guests to explore a selection of retreats, where mind, body and soul come together in perfect harmony. From the Ubud Escape, the Reset Retreat to Eat, Play & Love Yourself, and many more, every experience is crafted to awaken and rejuvenate each guest.

At the core of these offerings is the signature Soulrocker Retreat, a transformative journey led by the founders themselves, which guide each participant to celebrate self-discovery and joy, allowing them to reconnect with themselves through the rhythms of life and music.

The resort also offers the opportunity for guests to unleash their creativity by crafting intricate flower mandalas and learning klangsah weaving, and may other activities. With these activities, guests will have endless opportunities to immerse themselves in Balinese culture and artistry.

During their stay, guests will also be invited to join  the organic garden tour, which invites them to wander through vibrant rows of herbs, vegetables and flowers.
