Women@Hyatt Indonesia celebrates Int’l Women’s Day: Pioneering Change Through Communities

he Women@Hyatt Indonesia Chapter has celebrated International Women’s Day 2025 to emphasize the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality, calling for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face in both personal and professional spheres.

Initiated by Hyatt, Women@Hyatt Indonesia has been creating a buzz about women's development for Hyatt hotels’ women colleagues. The journey began at Alila SCBD Jakarta in 2023 and continued at Park Hyatt Jakarta in 2024.

This year’s event taking place on March 7 with a special event at Alila Seminyak focused on the theme "Pioneering Change through Communities", alongside with hashtag of #AccelerateAction as amplified by International Women’s Day for this year.

It brought everyone together from Hyatt Hotels across Bali, with hybrid online participation from Hyatt in Jakarta, Solo, Yogyakarta, and Makassar.

This gathering hosted about 50 participants, creating a vibrant and supportive community of women dedicated to accelerating action towards gender equality.

The afternoon began with a guided meditation, setting a serene and reflective energy of all participants.

The event was followed by a panel discussion hosted by Christiane Ferger, the General Manager of Alila Seminyak, featuring three distinguished panellists who have made significant contributions to their respective fields and have been champions of women's empowerment.

Christiane expressed her excitement for the event, "We are thrilled to host International Women’s Day gathering at Alila Seminyak. It is an honour to bring together such inspiring women who are dedicated to pioneering and fostering a supportive inclusive community toward #AccelerateAction.”

First panellist, Wayan Wirati, or usually called Ibu Wirati, a seasoned wellness director and Tai Chi master, shared her journey from the corporate world to becoming a wellness instructor.

Driven by a passion for holistic well-being, Wirati helped others find balance through mindful practices such as Tai Chi, yoga, meditation, and breathwork.

Her approach emphasized the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit for a harmonious life. As Alila Seminyak's esteemed master, she lead serene morning Tai Chi sessions that awoke both body and mind through mindful movements.

Her practice is uniquely enhanced with a fusion of Tai Chi and numerology, offering valuable insights into personality traits, personal growth, and navigating life's challenges.

A proud advocate for women's empowerment, Wirati is dedicated to inspiring women to embrace their inner strength and prioritize their well-being. Her teachings are deeply rooted in her Balinese heritage, integrating cultural values of balance, interconnectedness, and reverence for nature.

Meanwhile, Sri Indrastuti S. Hadiputranto, known as Ibu Tuti, stands as an inspiring figure in Indonesia, with a legacy that spans law, business, and sustainable development.

Her multifaceted career highlights her legal acumen and dedication to empowering communities and creating positive societal impacts, especially in the hospitality and environmental sectors. As one of the owners, Ibu Tuti ensures the resort embodies the highest standards of hospitality while fostering environmental responsibility.

Her influence contributes to Indonesia's growing reputation as a premier destination for global travellers. Recognized by Forbes Indonesia as one of the most inspiring women in the country, Ibu Tuti's influence, leadership, and commitment to making a difference are evident in her corporate governance roles and dedication to environmental causes, such as combating plastic pollution through the Indonesia National Plastic Action Partnership.

Heidy Zainuddin, the Account Director at Prefinite Communications, shared her insights.

With a degree in economic development, Heidy transitioned from leading the editorial department of a renowned fashion magazine in Singapore to sales and marketing, where she has spent the past eight years refining her expertise in brand strategy and communications.

A passionate advocate for women’s empowerment, Heidy actively supports initiatives that encourage women to excel and break boundaries in their careers.

She believes in lifting others up and creating opportunities for women to thrive in male-dominated industries.

Marisa Fera, Chairwoman of the Women@Hyatt Indonesia Chapter, highlighted the importance of the event, saying, "International Women’s Day is a powerful reminder of the progress we have made and the work that still lies ahead. By coming together and sharing our experiences, we can accelerate action towards gender equality and inspire future generations of women leaders."

This event also included a coffee break at the end of the event, providing an opportunity for participants to network and share their experiences.

“Women@Hyatt Indonesia also believes that our world is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where differences are valued and celebrated. Together, we can forge women's equality. Collectively, for #IWD2025, we can all #AccelerateAction,” said Women@Hyatt Indonesia.
