fter four months of fighting his dismissal from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), National Police Brig. Gen. Endar Priantoro has won back his job with the help of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo.

But KPK chairman Firli Bahuri, who was responsible for dismissing Endar in March, has not let the investigations director return to his post immediately. He has instead ordered Endar to participate in a training program at the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) until October and has assigned KPK prosecutor Ronald Worotikan to fill in for Endar in his absence.

Endar’s lawyer, Rakhmat Mulyana, questioned the decision, saying Endar was being discriminated against.

“The KPK secretary general and other staffers are also attending the same [training program] at Lemhanas. Are they being relieved and replaced with other staffers to carry out their duties?” Rakhmat said on Saturday, as quoted by Tempo.co.

Endar was dismissed by the KPK on March 31 on the grounds that his contract had ended, although National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo maintained that he had extended Endar’s tenure at the KPK before the deadline.
