Indonesia Decides

Ganjar-Mahfud National Campaign Team (TPN) deputy manager Muhammad Zainul Majdi, known as Tuan Guru Bajang, said the candidate pair proposes a "KTP Sakti" or "invincible ID card (KTP)" as one of its top programs in the 2024 election.

According to the former governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), social assistance programs for Indonesians are currently not centralized in one card but are distributed through several cards, such as the Indonesian Health Card (KIS), Indonesian Smart Card (KIP), Farmers Card (Kartu Tani). KTP Sakti will merge all of these programs under one card.

“A KTP will be enough. All government programs will be consolidated on all KTPs,” said Tuan Guru Bajang at a campaign volunteers event in Mataram, NTB, on Monday, as quoted by Antara.

He added that this program would make it easier for people to access their rights as citizens because they would no longer be burdened with using too many cards.

The KTP Sakti program is a continuation of what has been done by the government of Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, the e-ID card (e-KTP).

At the volunteers' event, Tuan Guru Bajang also commented on the electability of presidential-vice presidential ticket Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the race frontrunner, which is polling at over 50 percent based on surveys conducted by several polling institutions.

Mas Sandiaga, as chair of the TPN expert council, once said that polls can also be an instrument of intimidation, mobilization or conditioning,” he said.

He said that while surveys are integral to conditioning efforts to affect voters' perceptions, the situation in the field may contradict survey results.

“That’s what I can say. We have an equal chance with the other [pairs] and can win the election,” he said.
