"In Magelang alone, there are four sections of road spanning 18.2 kilometers repaired with a fund of Rp 31.9 billion," Jokowi said, referring to the Central Java regency at the foot of Merapi’s western slope.
The newly repaired road is also to be used as an evacuation route in the event of an eruption.
