Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Gibran Rakabuming Raka held a “nationalism parade” on Sunday while on the campaign trail in Semarang, Central Java.

Prabowo and Gibran, accompanied by Gibran's wife Selvi Ananda, distributed campaign T-shirts as they stood in a car with an open sunroof from Taman Indonesia Kaya to Pancasila Simpang Lima Field.

Following closely behind them in the convoy were other cars carrying leaders of the political parties grouped in the candidate pair’s electoral alliance, the Onward Indonesia Coalition (KIM), including National Mandate Party (PAN) chairman Zulkifli Hasan, Golkar Party chairman Airlangga Hartarto, Democratic Party chair Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, and Indonesia Solidarity Party (PSI) chair Kaesang Pangarep, Gibran’s younger brother.

Also joining the parade were a number of influencers and celebrities, including Baim Wong, Bertrand Antolin, Chand Kelvin, Desta, Paula Verhoeven, Ria Ricis and Tarra Budiman.

After arriving at Simpang Lima, Prabowo took to the stage and greeted the crowd, followed by Gibran and members of the KIM leadership.

Prabowo vowed to dedicate the rest of his life to eliminating poverty and asked those gathered to vote for him in the 2024 general election.

"Look at our coalition [sic], you can see that almost all of [the nation’s] best sons and daughters are in our coalition. We want to do the best for the people of Indonesia," he said, as quoted by Tribunnews.com.
