Volunteers from a property developers’ association declare their support for the Prabowo-Gibran ticket in the upcoming presidential election, promising votes from its 350,000 members.
The Indonesian Property Developers Association (GAPPI) declared on Monday its support for Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the upcoming presidential election.
GAPPI Volunteers chairman Hario Rahadanto claimed that more than 350,000 entrepreneurs were throwing their support behind Prabowo-Gibran, with the majority concentrated around Sumatra, Kalimantan and Java.
“This shows the people’s unrelenting power and will to support Prabowo-Gibran’s presidency. Insya Allah [God willing] we hope the presidential election will conclude in a single round,” Hario said, as quoted by cnnindonesia.com news portal.
Hendy Setiono, deputy head of the “Fanta” campaign team, Prabowo-Gibran’s campaign wing targeting young voters, welcomed the support saying that the GAPPI supporters encompassed not only property developers but also foremen, workers and their families.
Hendy also reiterated Prabowo’s promise of providing 3 million homes for poor citizens, as well as continuing the current government’s property tax-reduction program.
“This [housing program] will surely have a positive impact on the community. The government’s property tax program will also be continued,” he said.
During the final presidential debate on Sunday, Prabowo promised to build 3 million homes for the poor should he win the upcoming election.
