Prabowo acknowledged it was his first time hosting an official dinner and apologized for any mistakes he might have made during the banquet at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.
ewly inaugurated President Prabowo Subianto hosted a dinner on Sunday evening for foreign leaders and high-level representatives who attended his inauguration earlier that day, vowing to maintain good relations with all close partners and promote peace amid heightened geopolitical tensions.
The dinner, attended by some 20 guests, including from neighboring countries, was touted by Prabowo’s Gerindra Party as a proof of the former defense minister’s intense diplomatic efforts throughout the years.
“Indonesia would like to be the best neighbor, the best partner to work together for the common good, common peace and common prosperity,” Prabowo said before raising a toast to the foreign guests.
“Let us drink to world peace [and] to the common good of our people: peace, prosperity for all the people of the world,” added the 73-year-old President.
Prabowo acknowledged it was his first time hosting an official government dinner and apologized for any mistakes he might have made during the banquet at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.
“I am new at this,” he said with a chuckle before lifting his glass.
