T

he National Police have fired the South Solok Police’s head of operations division, Adj. Comr. Dadang Iskandar, for fatally shooting one of his colleagues in the West Sumatra regency last month.

According to the West Sumatra Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Dwi Sulistyawan, Dadang was taken to the National Police headquarters in Jakarta last week to undergo an ethics hearing pertaining to the case.

"The ethics court decided to dishonorably discharge him [from the force]," Dwi said on Sunday as reported by KompasTV.

Now that the ethics hearing has been concluded, the police will continue the criminal investigation into the case, Dwi went on to say, adding that Dadang had been flown back to West Sumatra.

Dadang allegedly shot fellow officer Adj. Comr. Ryanto Ulil Anshari from close range in the headquarters’ parking lot at 12:43 a.m. on Nov. 22, hitting him in the head and face.
