Five people have been arrested in the case of cannabis crops found in Lumajang regency, East Java, with the police seizing 1 kilogram of dried marijuana
umajang Police in East Java have arrested five people suspected of being accomplices to fugitive Edi, who is wanted in connection with recently discovered cannabis crops in the Mount Bromo tourist area.
“In total we have arrested five suspects. Three of them are residents of Lumajang regency and two are residents of Probolinggo regency,” Lumajang Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr Alex Sandy Siregar said in Lumajang on Monday, as quoted by Kompas.com.
“We also secured a total of 1 kilogram of dried marijuana.”
Alex said the police arrested pickup truck drivers Hartono Verinando Dedit Krestiawan at the entrance to Selokambang bath house.
He added that his officers found 640 grams of dried marijuana ready for distribution when they searched the pickup truck.
“After interrogating suspects H and VD, the police developed our investigations and successfully arrested three more suspects,” Alex said, saying the two men acted as couriers.
The three additional suspects have been named as Suroso, Somar and Tembul and were arrested in their respective homes in Argosari village, Senduro district, Lumajang regency.
