The Foreign Ministry confirmed on Tuesday the death of one of its diplomats at his rooming house in Gondangdia, Central Jakarta.

“Yes, one of the Foreign Ministry staff, Arya Daru Pangayunan, passed away at his residence in Gondangdia,” ministry spokesman Rolliansyah “Roy” Sumirat said in a short message on Tuesday, as quoted by Kompas.com.

Roy offered his condolences to Arya’s family, his wife and two children.

The ministry will leave the relevant authorities to investigate the case, which is believed to be one of unlawful killing.

“We will provide the required support during the process,” Roy said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Foreign Minister Havas Oegroseno said the ministry had received the report of Arya’s death and would leave the police to investigate the matter.
