Police investigate fire at house of judge who called Bobby to trial

Justice Khamozaro Waruhu’s house, on Jl. Pasar II in the Taman Harapan Indah housing complex in Medan Selayang district, caught fire on Tuesday morning and police began their investigation on Wednesday.

edan Police are investigating a fire at the home of a judge who recently called for North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution to appear at the graft trial of provincial Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency head Topan Obaja Putra Ginting.

Justice Khamozaro Waruhu’s house, on Jl. Pasar II in the Taman Harapan Indah housing complex in Medan Selayang district, caught fire on Tuesday morning and police began their investigation on Wednesday.

Medan Police chief Sr. Comr. Jean Calvijan Simanjuntak said the investigation was being conducted by his detectives together with those from North Sumatra Police General Crimes Directorate.

Jean said he was waiting for the results from the North Sumatra Forensics Laboratory to reveal the source of the fire, which gutted several rooms in the house.

“Results from the forensics laboratory are important to establish the fire source, which we will combine with crime scene investigation, statements from witnesses and the homeowner,” Jean said when visiting the judge’s house on Wednesday

When asked whether the fire was intentional, Jean said he could not yet say. He did, however, state he had entered several rooms in the house.
