he Indonesian Army command and the National Police force overseeing Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) provided different accounts on what happened in a stabbing case of Mobile Brigade (Brimob) operatives which took place during a brawl, based on their own initial investigations.
The incident took place in the early hours on Thursday, causing three Brimob operatives to suffer from stabbing wounds while two others were scratched. They were treated at Siloam Hospital.
The victims were identified as BBK and GNL, who hold the rank of second agents, and RME, FIA and RDJ, who are second brigadiers.
“Stabbed by unknown assailants, there were wounded and two were scratched,” Adj. Comr. Antonio Cortareal, commander of NTT Police Brimob B Battalion deputy commander, said on Thursday, as quoted by kompas.com.
Antonio said that the incident took place after several Brimob personnel took part in a mass celebrating the induction of Second Brig. JGR as a Brimob officer in Komodo district, West Manggarai regency, on Wednesday evening.
The event took place safely and orderly and the mass ended at 8:30 p.m.
When the Brimob personnel were about to go home at 1 a.m. on Thursday, they passed one of the suspected perpetrators, who immediately kicked Second Brig. R, Antonio said.
