Thailand tried hard to equalize in the second half by launching several attacks built by striker Itthimon Tipanet. However, it was not easy for the Young War Elephants to breach the solid defense mounted by the Young Socceroos.

A golden opportunity to score a goal appeared at the 54th minute through Itthimon but he failed to convert it into a goal.

Instead, it was Australia who manage to double its advantage 2-0 at the injury time of the second half. Beckham Baker’s left foot kick from the penalty box shattered Thailand’s net at the 90+7 minute. Thus, securing Australia’s victory and its sixth title at the event.
