orget movie stars and band members, these people are far more interesting to fangirl or fanboy over, since they are smart, witty and, of course, good looking.

Anderson Cooper

As the host of his show on CNN, Anderson Cooper 360°, and being the most recognizable face of the news network, Anderson Cooper surely is the perfect silver fox that everyone dreams of dating. When it comes to reporting breaking news, he is willing to go to any part of the world just to get a story. He is also famous for grilling his interviewees, like the one when he schooled Donald Trump during the CNN town hall event.

On a personal note, Anderson is a descendant of the Vanderbilt from his mother’s side of the family and in a longtime relationship with his partner Benjamin Maisani. Plus, he is known to replying to haters on his Twitter account with sassy remarks.

Najwa Shihab

Najwa Shihab is the perfect definition of beauty, brain and behavior. This news anchor has her own weekly prime time show Mata Najwa on Metro TV, where she interviews prominent and controversial Indonesian figures.

Her show is watched by millions of people every week, mostly because Najwa is never afraid to pose hard-hitting questions to her guests and is always ready with smart counterarguments.

She was nominated and has won numerous awards for her work, including runner-up at the Asian Television Awards (ATA) 2011 in the Best Current Affairs Presenter category. Najwa has also been anointed as the nation’s ambassador for reading for the next five years.

James Corden

Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon had better watch their back, because there’s a new “J” dominating the late-night shows called James Corden.

After inheriting the late night franchise on CBS from fellow Brit Craig Ferguson, The Late Late Show with James Corden quickly garnered thousands, even millions of viewers, thanks to his internet-famous Carpool Karaoke videos, where James shares a car with the likes of Adele, One Direction and, in the latest one, George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Gwen Stefani -- all together in one car singing along to Stefani's hits.

Other than running his own talk show, Corden has also been active as an actor. He even won a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a play for One Man, Two Guvnors in 2012.

Samantha Bee

Samantha Bee is the only female host in the late-night field, which gives her the advantage of bringing a fresh perspective to a male-dominated genre.

Her weekly news satire Full Frontal with Samantha Bee that airs on TBS network has no desk and no guest stars. It’s just the Canadian host, facing up the camera and the audience ripping off the week’s top stories in her no-holds-barred approach.

And being the only woman in the game, Samantha aims to pave the way for many women out there as evidenced by the show’s staff, which is 50 percent female.

Timothy Marbun

His face greets Indonesian viewers on the daily morning show Sapa Indonesia and primetime news bulletin Kompas Petang.

Timothy Marbun started his journalistic career as a reporter on news channel Metro TV, where he met his wife (yes, he’s married, people), TV anchor Sumi Yang. After years in the industry, he now serves as executive producer and news anchor for various TV programs on Kompas TV. It is also worth noting that he speaks English flawlessly, as he used to live in the US growing up.

Outside his journalistic career, he owns a coffee shop in the hip area of Sabang in Central Jakarta. Scrolling through his Instagram account (@timmarbun), Timothy appears to be a family-oriented guy who loves to spend time with his wife and son.

Trevor Noah

Being the successor of Jon Stewart, the South African comedian has some big shoes to fill, yet he’s been doing it very well as the host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

Trevor is, of course, the youngest among the current faces of late-night television hosts, which makes him more relatable to millenials. It also helps that he has the face of a model thanks to his bi-racial genes (his father is Swiss-German and his mother is of mixed Xhosa and Jewish ancestry).

Coming from a developing country, Trevor offers a different take on American politics. He also brings in a very diverse set of news correspondents to the show, where they take turn each day discussing hot topics, including racism, discrimination and, of course, Donald Trump. (kes)
