yan ToysReview was among the 10 highest-paid YouTubers of 2017. According to Forbes, the 6-year-old was said to earn up to US$11 million, before management fees and taxes, between June 1, 2016 and June 1, 2017, for reviewing toys.

Viewers know little about Ryan or his family. However, TubeFilter reports that Ryan kicked off his career in March 2015, at the tender age of three.

“Ryan was watching a lot of toy review channels — some of his favorites are EvanTubeHD and Hulyan Maya — because they used to make a lot of videos about Thomas the Tank Engine, and Ryan was super into Thomas,” said his mother Loann, adding that Ryan then asked why he was not on YouTube when all other kids were, which led them to create the channel.

Meanwhile, his father Sean added that they started Ryan’s YouTube channel because he had a lot of extended family living outside the United States, making the platform a great way to share childhood memories with them.

After four months, Ryan’s parents began to see a serious spike in viewership and the viewer numbers doubled month after month.

What Ryan does is simple. The YouTube star’s videos revolve around unboxing and reviewing toys, varying from Thomas and Friends toy trains to Giant Egg Surprise and more.

In addition to reviews, Ryan’s channel also features fun science experiments for kids, family vacations and family events.

Although Ryan is now a millionaire, news.com.au reports that his parents have put his YouTube earnings into a college fund as well as a trust fund for Ryan and his twin sisters, Emma and Kate. (jes/kes)
