rom 1991 to 2001, David Joyner put on the purple-green dinosaur costume and transformed himself into the iconic Barney the Dinosaur, sharing joy with children on PBS’ show Barney & Friends. Fast-forward to 2018, Joyner revealed to Vice that he is now running a tantric massage business, which focuses on giving “joy” to women.
A full session with Joyner costs US$350. The service is said to include a ritual bath, chakra balancing, massage as well as mind-blowing orgasms.
“When the lingam [penis] and the yoni [vagina] meet, there’s a certain energy that takes place that hands on the body alone cannot create,” said the tantric massage specialist-slash-spiritual healer.

On his previous role as Barney, Joyner said, “The energy I brought [while] in the costume is based on the foundation of tantra, which is love.”
Joyner added that he also used his tantra training to maintain his energy while wearing the 30-kilogram costume for several hours. Although the temperature inside the purple costume could reach 120 degrees, Joyner said that tantra helped him to maintain an abundance of joy while acting. (jes/asw)
