t is often said that time heals all wounds. But a break-up can sometimes get you so down in the dumps, you think you could never love again.
With social media, especially, it might also be easy to see how quickly your ex has moved on.
As it turns out, however, regardless of who did the breaking up, a study has found that the miserable feeling after the end of a romantic relationship is experienced by both parties for the same amount of time.

A study published in the Journal of Positive Psychology has shown that the time frame to get over a break-up is the same for both people in the relationship, no matter which one did the dumping, as reported by kompas.com.
The survey involved 1,404 university students aged 18-25 to find out how long it takes to get over a break-up. It revealed that 71 percent needed 11 weeks after the break-up until they could view their former relationship in a positive light.
So if you're feeling miserable after a break-up, maybe it could comfort you a little to know that your ex is feeling the same as you for the next 11 weeks. (liz/kes)
