Felix Budisetiawan, executive chef of The Dharmawangsa hotel in South Jakarta, said there was no specific rule on what kind of items should be included in Ramadhan gifts.
Ramadhan has just arrived and, as usual, it is time to exchange gifts.
Felix Budisetiawan, executive chef of The Dharmawangsa hotel in South Jakarta, told The Jakarta Post via email that there was no specific rule on what kind of items should be included in Ramadhan gifts.
He stressed that the most important aspect of the tradition was preserving good relationships between colleagues, neighbors or relatives.
Those looking for gifts may want to check out the following items recommended by two five-star hotels in Jakarta.
The Dharmawangsa Jakarta
Those looking for a gift with a local touch may want to order nasi campur Dharmawangsa (Dharmawangsa’s mixed rice) from The Dharmawangsa hotel in South Jakarta.
The dish comprises steamed rice served with grilled prawns, crispy beef, shredded spicy chicken, sautéed green beans and braised eggs.
The chef said the dish was created based on the philosophy of wellness, as the hotel collaborates with a local farm to get fresh organic vegetables.

Meanwhile, lapis legit needs no introduction as it has been a local favorite for decades.
