Brussels exhibition brings Van Gogh to virtual reality

The exhibition is based on extensive research by the Van Gogh Museum into the life of the painter and will employ the use of 360-degree multimedia and 3D technology.

russels Stock Exchange in Brussels, Belgium, is set to host a Van Gogh exhibition that will bring the painter’s works to life on the walls through virtual reality technology until Jan. 6. 

The exhibition is based on extensive research by the Van Gogh Museum into the life of the painter and will employ the use of 360-degree multimedia and 3D technology. It has already won awards and is expected to see several thousand art lovers after a successful debut in Italy earlier this year.

Paintings at the exhibition were reported to have flowing rivers, squawking and flying crows, and other life-like animated elements, according to a report by Lonely Planet. Visitors will be able to witness the famous The Starry Night, Sunflowers and Self-Portrait beamed onto the walls of the building. 

Admission starts at €17.50 (US$20) for adults and €12.50 for children.Tickets are available online. (acr/kes)
