div>For Slank frontman Bimo Setiawan Almachzumi or Bimbim, a mother is everything. The drummer even likens mothers to amulets.

“Mothers are like amulets. If we [want to] do something, ask for [their] permission and if [that permission] is granted, even supported, everything will go very well and easy,” he said to Kompas.com in a recent interview.

“The concept is awesome, the show will be held on Dec. 23. As National Women’s day falls on Dec. 22, we will collaborate with a number of female guest stars. There will also be additional players who will join us. The title of the concert is Indonesia Now,” Bimbim said.

The band’s matriarch, Bunda Iffet, will also be in attendance.

“Bunda Iffet will give a speech for all mothers,” said Bimbim, adding that the mother-centric concept is included in the concert because of a mother’s huge influence on the band’s career.

“The main idea is ‘mother’ because we can move as fast as we want, but without a mother’s blessing, everything will be a mess. As long as we have a mother, we have to take really good care of her,” Bimbim said. (asw)
