Penned by Joko Anwar, Orang Kaya Baru follows a financially struggling family who become rich overnight. Starring Lukman Sardi, Cut Mini, Derby Romero, Raline Shah and Fatih Unru, the film displays how norak (tacky) the family is, but at the same time also delivers a message about the importance of family.
Ochay expressed hope that more Indonesian films would enter the box office.
“Filmmakers nowadays have to maintain their standards as people start to believe in the quality of Indonesian films,” said Ochay. “Filmmakers have to make films with good storytelling that are presented in a good appearance, therefore people will be able to enjoy it.” (wir/kes)
