Screenplay Films released the trailer for Indonesian action-comedy film Hit & Run on Friday.

Directed by Ody C Harahap (Orang Kaya Baru), the film follows police officer Tegar Saputra (Joe Taslim) and his new partner, a conman named Lio (Chandra Liow). Against all odds, the duo needs to collaborate in locating Coki (Yayan Ruhian), a drug dealer.

The two-minute trailer shows how the dynamic duo fight the bad guys, presenting well-choreographed fighting scenes courtesy of action director Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes for Us) and action choreographer the Uwais Team.

Hit & Run will be Joe’s first comedy, as the former judo athlete is known for his roles in action films, such as The Raid: Redemption in 2012 and Fast and Furious 6 in 2013.

YouTube personality Chandra said in a press release that he was quite picky in choosing a project.

“As you can see from Hit & Run’s trailer, [the film] is very epic,” said Chandra, referring to explosions, fight scenes and jokes in the trailer.

“It’s rare to see an Indonesian film like this,” he added.

Hit & Run is set to hit theaters on June 4. (jes/wng)
