CGV Cinemas movie theater chain recently added fried instant cup noodles to its menu.

“Do you want to eat noodles at the cinema? [Now you] can! Mie Sedap Goreng cup is now available at all CGV theaters,” the company says on its website.

However, Twitter users were not excited by the idea, with many expressing their concerns over the noodles’ pungent smell disturbing the viewing experience of other movie-goers.

@agamsebastian_ commented: “I can't imagine the smell.”

@Nokning shared a similar opinion: “No. The smell would be too strong.”

 @big_dim added that the smell would distract other viewers, making them feel uncomfortable.

Meanwhile, @thatxmine tweeted: “This is my favorite. And for your information, because this Mie Sedap is served dry, the smell would not be as strong as [its soup-based products]. It won’t make your friends sitting next to you [feel hungry]." (jes/kes)
