Right now, it's almost as though the internet is revolving around Keanu Reeves, and the actor has endeared himself to netizens everywhere.
So when comicbook.com asked Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige about Reeves joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), his response is sure to have come as a delight to many: "We talk to him for almost every film we make."
"I don't know when, if, or ever he'll join the (Marvel Cinematic Universe), but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it," Feige said.
Feige has likened Marvel’s efforts at luring Reeves into the MCU to its earlier efforts to get Jake Gyllenhaal onboard – who appears as Mysterio in this year's Spider-Man: Far From Home – implying that it's simply a matter of time before Reeves joins the MCU line-up.
As CNN Entertainment has said, 2019 is seeing a "Keanuaissance” with Reeves at his most prolific, his range of talent and character leaving the internet starstruck.
Halfway through the year, and he’s already featured in John Wick: Chapter 3–Parabellum, Toy Story 4 and Always Be My Maybe.
He also surprised fans with his appearance at the recent Xbox at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), the premiere video game trade show, to promote the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 – which, of course, he stars in. And the love went both ways, according to Variety.
Most of all, in what can only be described as the opposite of a controversy, Reeves has also been dubbed a “respectful king” for his honorable behavior when taking photographs with women – those he knows as well as those he doesn't.
Whether you're a fan or not, we can all draw on the positive vibes emanating from the "Keanuaissance” – especially after the 2019 elections riddled with hate speech and hoaxes. (ayr/mut)
