Veteran journalist and author Leila Chudori aired the first episode of her new podcast on Wednesday.
In the program, Coming home with Leila Chudori, the author reviews and discusses books in three segments: “In contemplation with…”, “In conversation with…” and “In consideration with…”
For “In contemplation with…”, Leila talks to prominent figures who like to read and treat books as a necessity of life, according to a statement sent to The Jakarta Post. Those figures include movie producer Mira Lesmana, actress Dian Sastrowardoyo, GE Indonesia CEO Handry Satriago, Femina magazine chief editor Petty Fatimah and Post chief editor Nezar Patria.
Meanwhile, “In conversation with…” is where Leila will converse with writers, comic artists and poets about creative processes. Those featured in this segment include authors Seno Gumira Ajidarma, Dewi “Dee” Lestari and Ahmad Fuadi.
The third segment, “In consideration with…”, broadcasts discussions between several speakers about one or two interesting books.

The 15-20-minute episodes of Coming Home with Leila Chudori, published every Wednesday, will lead listeners into the universe of literature through casual conversation.
“Listen to my chat with Mira Lesmana on our podcast. Episode 1 discusses the works of Haruki Murakami and Alice Munro,” Leila was quoted as saying by tempo.co.
The podcast aims to spread a love of reading among listeners in a fast-paced age dominated by digital media. Furthermore, it has the vision to encourage Indonesians to broaden their minds through books.
