Spotify launches new subscription plan for two

usic streaming giant Spotify introduced a new premium subscription plan on Thursday that aims to attract two people living together at the same home address.
Spotify Premium Duo costs Rp 64,990 (US$4.59) per month for two premium accounts. The benefits include ad-free streaming, on-demand listening and access to the complete Spotify catalogue of more than 50 million tracks and over 1 million podcast titles, according to a statement.
Premium Duo subscribers will also get exclusive access to Duo Mix, a regularly updated playlist curated according to their own audio algorithm.
“With two individual Premium accounts, you can both listen independently, uninterrupted and get all of your personalized playlists and features tailored just for you. We are thrilled to bring this unique Spotify Premium plan to even more markets around the world,” Spotify chief freemium business officer Alex Norström said in the statement.

To sign up, users can visit spotify.com/duo and follow the instructions. Subscribers who already have a premium account can switch to the Premium Duo plan by visiting their account page and changing their subscription.
The Premium Duo plan is an alternative to the previously existing sharing plan, Spotify Family, which is designed for up to six people living together at the same address. The Spotify Family plan costs Rp 79,000 per month for six different accounts.
A cheaper alternative to the individual premium account is also available for college students at Rp 24,990 per month.
The company remains busy amid this pandemic. Just yesterday it launched a new feature dubbed Lyrics for all its free and premium users in Indonesia, allowing them to view real-time lyrics on the Spotify app. (gis/kes)
