ustralian actress Elizabeth Debicki will play the role of Princess Diana in the fifth and sixth seasons of Netflix’s hit series The Crown, joining Imelda Staunton who will play the role of Queen Elizabeth II.
According to The Independent, Debicki will pick up the baton from English actress Emma Corrin, who will play the role of the late royal in the series’ fourth season.
A statement from Debicki was posted on The Crown’s official Twitter account: “Princess Diana’s spirit, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many. It is my true privilege and honor to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one.”

Born in 1990, Debicki has starred in The Great Gatsby, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Tenet, an upcoming spy film written and directed by Christopher Nolan.
